June 7th Newsletter

Hello St Leo Community!

Once again there are so many things to be proud of and grateful for.

  • Apart from a few supplier glitches, the Spring Fling this year was again successful.  Thanks to everyone who planned, set up, manned events and food stands, sold tickets, played the tunes, counted money and tore down the Spring Fling this past Thursday.  Thanks to the sponsors who bore the costs of bouncey castles and stages and cotton candy machines.  Thanks to our entertainers who danced and sang and played throughout the evening.  Special thanks to the teachers and all of the Grade 7 and 8 students who gave us their time and also the many many alumni who came back to support the Spring Fling.  The teacher, student and alumni engagement was amazing and we appreciate your contributions very much.

  • Thank you to everyone who came out to the Spring Fling and brought their kids (and their neighbours).  If you have any suggestions about how we can make the Spring Fling better – we will happily welcome you on to the 2020 Spring Fling organizing committee.

  • Congratulations to Jelina Sanchez-Sabando.  Her family is now the proud owner of a Honda HRR MicroCutTM Rear-Bag lawnmower.  Thank you to the Gauthier Family and Roadsport Auto Group for donating the lawnmower for this raffle and to all the St Leo families, teachers and staff who bought raffle tickets.

  • Congratulations to our intermediate soccer teams!

    • The intermediate boys soccer team didn't end up placing in the tournament but showed SO much school spirit, positive sportsmanship and even more positive attitudes.  The boys pushed through the pouring rain playing four games and still managed to have a ton of fun.

    • The intermediate girls soccer team came 1st in the West Divisional tournament!  They played amazing and exceeded all expectations.  We are so proud of them!  The girls are moving on to the Regional Division tournament on Monday June 10th.  Go Lions Go!!

  • A thank you and shout out to Lee Merricks from LM Premier Football Academy for his generous donation of two large bags of soccer balls to St. Leo C.S.  So wonderful!!
