Hello St Leo Community!
It is June!! We are in the final stretch of the 2018/19 school year. Yikes! Time sure does fly.
This is the last week to buy your tickets for the Honda Lawnmower.
You can buy on-line until the end of day on June 5th or you can purchase tickets in person at the Spring Fling. The draw for the lucky winner will be held at the close of the Spring Fling. Special thanks to the Gauthier Family and Roadsport Auto Group for donating the genuine Honda HRR MicroCutTM Rear-Bag lawnmower for this raffle. Tickets are 1 ticket - $5.00, 5 tickets - $20.00, 20 tickets - $50.00. Anyone who buys 20 tickets for $50 will receive a St Leo string bag. If you are buying tickets for other people, please fill out the names and phone numbers of the purchasers on the attached sheet and return it to school. No ticket receipts will be sent home. Your name and phone number will be written (for each ticket you purchase) on a ballot sheet which will, in turn, be put into the raffle box. Please share this raffle with all your friends.
The 2019 Spring Fling is this Thursday from 5-8:00 pm. Bring your kids. Bring your neighbours. New this year – “the Zorb experience”. Come try it out!!
Don’t forget to send in your used (but washed) stuffies and small toys for the stuffie wall and game prizes. Please drop off your washed stuffies and small toys at the St Leo front office.
Please drop off baked goods on the morning of June 6th at the school for the Spring Fling bake sale. The bake sale ladies let me know that individual items for consumption on site are the most desired items.
We still have sponsorship opportunities available. If you are interested in sponsoring a bouncy castle or game (or know a business that would be) please get in touch. The sponsorship prices are as follows – regular bouncy castle ($350), games ($150).
The last Spring Fling meeting will be held on June 3rd in the school gym after yoga at 8pm.
Below are all the updates you need for the coming weeks:
There is no CSPC meeting this week. The next and final 2018/19 CSPC meeting will be held on Tuesday June 18th at 6:30 in the staff room.
Auditions for the 2019 St Leo talent show will be held June 7th and 10th. Sign-up sheets will be posted on the gym doors starting Monday. Let your kids know that this is their opportunity to show off their hidden talents! Sing, dance, juggle or beatbox your way into the annual talent show!
St Leo community partner Math Learning Academy wants you to know that it is holding several “Math Refresher” weeks in the summer for Grade 3 to Grade 8 students. Please see the attachment for more information.
St Leo community partner Dr Koh from Specs & Spines wants you to know that the Eye See Eye Learn program is available for JK kids, in the 2014 birth year, to use until the end of June 2019. If your JK child requires glasses, they are eligible to receive them for free. Contact Specs & Spines Optometry at 416-251-4448 to book an appointment.
Reminders in case you missed them the first time:
The third of four the St Leo CSPC hosted parent yoga/wellness evenings will take place this coming week on Monday June 3rd from 7 to 8 pm in the school gym. All are welcome. Bring your own yoga mat. Childcare will be provided if you need it. If you will be using the childcare, please let us know in advance so we have enough sitters. Either respond to this email or send a message directly to Nikki at firstname.lastname@example.org. The final session will be held on Monday June 10th.
The pizza party for the swim team will be held on June 14th.
