Hello St Leo Community!
This week (May 27th – 31st) is EQAO week for the Grade 3s and Grade 6s. Please be sure your children are on time for school this week and that no early pick-ups are scheduled. Also, keep in mind that a good breakfast, healthy snacks and a good lunch are most important!
We had our first parent yoga session this past week. It was very well attended. Thanks to Nikki Dettbarn who applied for the grant that allowed us to offer these sessions, and also made all the planning arrangements with the yoga teachers and the school. Please see below for details of the next three sessions.
Thanks to Dorothy, the parent volunteers and the Grade 8s who prepared and delivered the pasta lunch the children enjoyed this past Thursday.

The annual Mimico Village Tulip Festival will take place on Tuesday May 28th from 4 to 8 pm on Royal York Road from Evans to Newcastle. See attachment. When you attend the festival see if you can pick out the tulip painted by the St Leo grade 8s. Happy hunting!
May’s Virtue Assembly will be held on Friday May 31st at 1 pm in the school gym. All are welcome.
Friday May 31st is Civvies Day. Don’t forget to bring your toonie.
We have three super kid-focused auction items left for the silent auction. It would be a shame for these activities to go to waste. If you are interested in any of the items below, please respond to the email with your best offer by 11:59 pm Friday May 31st to be considered. Don’t delay. Send in your best offer.

Reminders in case you missed them the first time:
The second of four the St Leo CSPC hosted parent yoga/wellness evenings will take place this coming week on Wednesday May 29nd from 7 to 8 pm in the school gym. All are welcome. Bring your own yoga mat. Childcare will be provided if you need it. If you will be using the childcare, please let us know in advance so we have enough sitters. Either respond to this email or send a message directly to Nikki at email@example.com. This is a great opportunity to take some time for yourself … and even meet a few more parents from the St. Leo Community. We hope to see many parents at these sessions. The next sessions will be held on Monday June 3rd and Monday June 10th.
There will be a pizza party for the track team on May 31st. No need for the athletes to pack lunch that day.
The pizza party for the swim team has been rescheduled to June 14th. No need for the swimmers to pack lunch that day. I will remind you again closer to the date.
The Gauthier Family and Roadsport Auto Group graciously donated a genuine Honda HRR MicroCutTM Rear-Bag lawnmower to St Leo C.S. to raffle off. We started the raffle at the auction and it will continue until the Spring Fling. At the close of the Spring Fling, Mrs. Ugrin will pull the lucky winner’s ballot out of the raffle box. Starting Monday, you can buy your tickets to this raffle on-line: 1 ticket - $5.00, 5 tickets - $20.00, 20 tickets - $50.00. If you are buying tickets for other people (Your neighbours? Your granny?), please fill out the names and phone numbers of the purchasers on the ticket sheet being sent home in backpacks (and attached) and return it to school. No ticket receipts will be sent home. Your name and phone number will be written (for each ticket you purchase) on a ballot sheet which will, in turn, be put into the raffle box. Please share this raffle with all your friends.
The annual Spring Fling will take place on June 6th in the evening.
We need volunteers for this event. Please respond to this email if you are interested in volunteering to help plan the event or to run a station (game or food) on that evening. Thanks to all the parents who have put their name forward already. I will be in touch shortly with assignments.
We have some items left requiring sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring a bouncy castle or game (or know a business that would be) please get in touch. The sponsorship prices are as follows – regular bouncy castle ($350), games ($150).
If you would like to rent space (with or without a table) please respond to this email. A 10 X 10 ft space (without a table) is $50.
We are collecting used (but washed) stuffies and small toys as prizes for the Spring Fling games. Please drop off your washed stuffies and small toys at the St Leo front office.
Please drop off baked goods on the morning of June 6th at the school for the Spring Fling bake sale. Please note – the bake sale ladies suggested that individual items for consumption on site are the most desired items.
