Hello St Leo Community,


Friday was Ms. McCann's last day before her maternity leave.  On behalf of St Leo’s parents and St. Leo’s CSPC, we wish her much joy over the coming year as her family expands.  Best wishes Ms. McCann.

Thank you to all the families that came out for the Raptors 905 game on Saturday and supported St Leo’s fundraising activities.  It was a great afternoon. 

Best wishes to the boys and girls soccer teams which will be competing at tournaments this week.  Go Lions Go!!

Below are all the updates you need for the coming weeks:

  1. On Monday January 28th, there will be a meeting for students interested in participating in St. Leo's first ever French spelling bee. The event will be open to students Grades 1 to 8, in both the French Immersion program and the Core French program.

  2. The next Virtue Awards Assembly will be held on Friday February 1st 1:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome.

  3. The boys' basketball tournament will be held on Tuesday February 5th.  Practices continue.

  4. The girls’ basketball tournament will be held on Thursday February 7th.  Practices continue.

  5. Attached is a copy of a community notice from Councillor Grimes regarding the recent installation of a Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) on Royal York Road and Symons Street. The activation of this PXO is scheduled for the coming weeks, and Councillor Grimes wanted to give parents in the community some notice about it.

Reminders in case you missed them the first time:

  1. Canadian Parents for French (CPF) in partnership with St Leo CS is presenting IDÉLLO on January 30th at 6:30 in the school gym.  Please join us for this free event to learn about the wonderful resources available through IDÉLLO to support your child’s learning and engagement in French language and culture.

  2. The Junior Boys soccer tournament is on January 30th.  Practices continue.

  3. The Junior Girls soccer tournament is on January 31st.  Practices continue.

  4. Kindergarten Registration in Toronto Catholic Schools has begun.  Children born in 2015 are eligible for kindergarten starting in September 2019.  Parents can complete their application online at SOAR.tcdsb.org, and follow up with a visit to the school to present the required documents. The online application is available 24 hours.
