November 30th News Letter

Hello St Leo Community – It's another quick one tonight.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Marlies fundraiser today.  It was a great afternoon with so many from our St Leo school community.  Our next event is a Raptors 905 game on January 26th!  More details will be in next week’s newsletter.

Below are all the updates you need for the coming weeks:

  1. The St Leo Advent celebration will take place on December 18th.  December’s Virtue of the Month is Charity. Accordingly, in lieu of admission tickets, we are asking families to please bring in new socks for donation to shelters.

  2. Our St Leo Community Partner, Royal York Football Club, wants you to know that their Annual Membership registration open December 1st.  It is a great opportunity for students to get involved in different soccer programs for an entire year.  See attached flyer.

Reminders in case you missed them the first time:

  1. The annual Hat and Mitten Tree collection is underway.  St Leo is decorating the tree in the office with donations of new mittens, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, ear muffs, headbands and other cold weather gear.  All donations will be delivered to the St Vincent de Paul society.

  2. On Monday December 10th St Leo will host a special presentation on Internet Awareness and Safety.  Students will receive a presentation during the day and Parents/Guardians are invited to attend a presentation for parents and care givers in the evening at 6:30 pm in the school gym.  The presenter, Paul Davis, is a well-known expert in the area of cyber bullying and internet safety.  His message is direct, poignant and very important for students and parents alike.  Please add this date to your calendar.
