Hello St Leo Community!

A warm welcome to Ms. Carnovale who will join the St. Leo CS staff tomorrow as the new grade 8 teacher.  We are certainly sad to see Mr. Punter leave St Leo, but we wish him all the best in his new position at The Holy Trinity C.S. … and hope that his and St Leo’s paths will cross again in the future.

Thanks to Duke, the Marlies’ mascot for visiting the Se Leo C.S. this past week.  Special thanks to parent April Kalloo for making that happen.  The kids loved Duke’s visit.

Below are all the updates you need for the coming weeks:

  1. Congratulations to Mme. Macri’s class.  You have won the Ice Cream Sundae party for the class selling the most Marlies tickets.  The parent council will be in touch with Mme. Macri to make arrangements for this special treat.  Thank you for supporting your school.

  2. Marlies tickets are still on sale.  The game is on Dec 2nd and tickets are on sale for $25.  Tickets can be purchased through cash on-line (www.schoolcashonline.com), or you can send cash or a cheque to the school with your child.  Please write cheques to St. Leo CSPC.  There is still time to get a spot in the fan tunnel for being a top 20 ticket seller.  Tickets will be available for sale until Tuesday November 27th.

  3. The much needed re-construction of the library ceiling will begin this week or early next week.  All work will be done after 4:00 pm and on weekends.  During the construction period, of approximately eight weeks, all are advised to stay clear of the construction work area.

Reminders in case you missed them the first time:

  1. The TCDSB is having a French as a Second Language (FSL) Parent Outreach event for K-12. The goal of the event is to promote and establish a strong parent, school and French community connection.  All are welcome on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 from 10 am -2 pm at the TCDSB Board offices at 80 Sheppard Ave East.

  2. On Monday December 10th St Leo will host a special presentation on Internet Awareness and Safety.  Students will receive a presentation during the day and Parents/Guardians are invited to attend a presentation for parents and care givers in the evening at 6:30 pm in the school gym.  The presenter, Paul Davis is a well-known expert in the area of cyber bullying and internet safety.  His message is direct, poignant and very important for students and parents alike.  Please add this date to your calendar.
