April 4th CSPC Newsletter

Hello St. Leo!  

What a great weekend for the St. Leo Swim Team as they competed in the 2016 TCDSB Swim Meet at the Etobicoke Olympium.  A huge congratulations to all of our swimmers for their dedication, sportsmanship and athletic performance. All reached their personal best and all made St. Leo very proud.  Shout out to the bronze medal winners of Aidan, Hope, Tony and Grace for the Mixed Relay and to Alex for the Breast Stroke.  Thank you to our teachers Mrs Figueredo, Mme Hunter, Ms Starr, Ms Simas,  and Mrs Ugrin.  Thank you to Brandi Ward for volunteering on deck, to the Weigand Family for their very generous donation of tshirts for the swim team, to Olympian Swimming for their very generous donation of swim caps and MOST ESPECIALLY to our terrific parent coaches Jackie McGrath, Blair Larsen and Claire McMullan!  What a terrific experience this has been for our students!!!

Reminder that the Parent Workshop "Kids have Stress Too" is in the Library on Monday at 6:00p.m.

Virtue and Awards Assembly is Monday.  Thank you to Mrs Ugrin and the teachers for this great monthly activity to reward our students for achievement, exemplary behaviour and Christian example! 

Tuesday is Chess for grades 1-4.

We are seeking water bottles (preferably the larger sizes) for our upcoming food garden.  As well we need soil, strawberry plants and a rain barrel.  If anyone has a lead on any of these please respond to this email. If you are interested in volunteering for some gardening/planting with your child's class, please respond to this email. 

Pizza Day is Wednesday (not Tues as in the calendar)

Caribou Math is Wednesday morning at 7:30a.m. 

Please join us for our CSPC Meeting this Wednesday at 6:30p.m. in the School Library.

School trip to LegoLand for Mme Campeau and Mme Hunter on Wednesday.

We are seeking volunteers for our Spring Summer watering schedule of the trees and shrubs.  The more people willing to help, the easier the job for everyone! The first year of planting is CRUCIAL for our new trees to survive and we need your help.

Travelling Stage Dance Workshops will take place for grades 1-8 on Thursday. 

Seeking stuffed animals and small toys for prizes for the Spring Fling.  Thank you to all who donated so far.  Please bring any donations to the School Office. 

St. Leo Children's Choir will be singing on Sunday, April 10th at the 11:30a.m. Mass.  Please come and support them! 

Reminder that April 15th is a PA Day.
