WEEKLY CSPC Newsletter April 25th

Good morning St. Leo Community.  My apologies that the newsletter did not get out last night!  Please check out http://www.stleoparentcouncil.or @stleosfun and  https://m.facebook.com/stleopcspc

The final totals for the auction are in and we are thrilled to say that we made a profit of $6331.34  That is more than triple what the auction made at the Spring Fling.   AWESOME!!!!!!  Every dollar of this goes back to the students to enrich their education and to provide much needed resources.  Thank you to everyone who helped to make it a reality. It looks like this may become an annual so be sure to join us again next year!

Planting of vegetables for Ms Policelli, Ms Arbour and Ms Mullin's class will take place this Thursday from 2-3.  If you are interested in volunteering please meet us in the office just before 2.  These vegetables will be harvested in June for use in our Nutrition program.

You will notice that we have four new vegetable planters that were installed by PODS gardening this past weekend.  This is part of a community initiative to plant for the food insecure in our community. Harvests will be shared with organizations such as LAMP, Women's Habitat and the Food Bank.  We are looking for volunteers from within the school and community to help with watering over the summer months.  Please respond to this email if you are interested. In addition please respond if you are willing to donate one week over the summer to water our trees!

Wednesday is Pizza Dy.

Thursday is Pasta Day.

Travelling Stage will be at the school on Thursday for grades 1-8.

Friday is Civies Day.  (A twoonie donation is requested).

We are in full swing now for our Spring Fling on June 9th.  We are seeking stuffed animals for the prize wheel as well as any small toys that can be used for prizes.  Please bring all donations to the office.  As well we are seeking community partners to sponsor our bouncy castles and games.  If you know of anyone who might be interested please respond to this email.

If you have a child currently in grade one and might be interested in pursuing french immersion for them for the 2016/17 school year, please respond to this email.  We are checking numbers as to who might be interested as we pursue it further with the TCDSB.

A huge shoutout to our Community Partners of the week Oxygen Bike Company and Marina Animal Hospital.  Thank you for your support of St. Leo School.

Next CSPC meeting is Wednesday May 4th at 6:30p.m. in the library.
