Weekly CSPC Newsletter March 20th, 2016

Good evening St. Leo families.  Hoping that everyone had some well deserved rest and relaxation over the March Break.  As we begin Holy Week and our mid point of the school year,  I just  wanted to open the lines of communication should anyone have any questions, concerns or ideas. Please email me at this address - your opinion matters.   Also remember to check out http://www.stleoparentcouncil.or twitter @stleosfun and our Facebook page.

In this our midway point, I feel very proud that together with you, we have been been able to provide our students with greater resources than ever before!  Next years budget will be determined by the success of this years fundraising and so I enthusiastically remind us all that we need support in our two remaining events to make 2016/17 a banner year as well!
The St. Leo Auction and Community Night is April 16th and our Annual Spring Fling is June 9th..
We have fantastic items up for auction  including great deals on summer camps, sports paraphenelia and jewellery.   Please have a look at the attached list below.  We need your help in selling tickets and getting folks out to the event.  The great thing about this event, like our Spring Fling is that we are not tapping out our families but moving within the greater community for support.  Let me say between us that I think this is going to be a really fun night and a fantastic way to connect with the families of the kids your children hang out with every day!

And save the date for the Spring Fling of June 9th and let us know how you would like to volunteer!  We depend on you to make the event the success that it is.  Please send in your gently used stuffed toys and any small little toys that can be used as prizes!

If you have any 2L or 5L empty water bottles please send into the school to be used and recycled to grow edible plants in our Learning Garden.  Thank you Ms LeHane for spearheading this initiative.

Please respond to this email if you are interested in joining LEGS Etobicoke in planting raised gardens to supply food for the Daily Food bank as well as our own Nutrition program.  This is an initiative connected to our very own Learning Garden and we need help to water throughout the spring and summer months.

Reminder that Wednesday is Pizza Day and that forms for the remaining pizza days through May are due by March 31st.

Good luck to our Lions Basketball players as they compete at Humber on March 22nd!

Chess Club is Tuesday, March 22nd for grades 5-8.

Next pasta Day is March 31st.  Look for forms in your child's backpack.

Swim practice will be held on Saturday, March 26th at Alderwood Pool.  There is no practice on Good Friday.  The Swim Meet is on April 2nd and 3rd.  Go Lions Go!
