February 21st CSPC Weekly Newsletter

Good evening St. Leo Parents, teachers and staff.  Hoping that everyone enjoyed the warmer temperatures this weekend!  Check out our website at http://www.stleoparentcouncil.org and follow us on twitter @stleosfun  Please LIKE us on Facebook so we can get momentum going on the page! https://m.facebook.com/stleopcspc

Save the Date of Saturday April 16th for the  St. Leo Community Night and Auction.  We will be moving our annual auction from the Spring Fling to an adult social (parents, teachers, staf and community) at the Maple House Restaurant and Grill.  This will allow us to offer a great night for adults (D.J. Appetizers and Cash Bar) and free up some manpower for another awesome Spring Fling on June 9th geared toward the children.  This is the night before Confirmation and we hope that you will stop by with friends and family in town for the occasion.
We will have many summer camps, local gift certificates, sports paraphernalia with really great deals to be had.  A catalogue will become available as the items come in.
We are looking for any donations of gift certificates and items that can be put on the auction block. Tickets are $10.00 per person.   Please email fundraisingstleos@gmail.com  All funds will go to resources for the students.

The next CSPC meeting is Wednesday, March 2nd at 6:30p.m. in the School library.  Please mark this in your calendar particularly if you are a CSPC elected member.  We will be reviewing our mid year budget and must have quorum to pass any motions.  All are welcome and all and any  input as to how fundraising monies should be spent is welcomed and appreciated.  If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to send feedback please direct it to this email.

Decisions regarding ranking and the outcome of the SARC will be available on the TCDSB website this week.  We will keep you posted if we hear any news of a potential new school for St. Leo. Thank you to Brandi Ward for her leadership and to the SARC committee for their tireless advocacy of a new facility.

Thank you to Ms LeHane, Ms Starr and the grade 7's and 8's  for representing St Leo so beautifully at the 10:00a.m. Mass this morning.  Reminder that all confirmandi must register with Father Frank and that the parents are required to complete the class session as well.

If you are interested in extended French for your child (Entry at grade five)  and would like to join a group of parents who will speaking to representatives from the Board as to why we cannot run early and mid immersion concurrently, please respond to this email.  This is contrary to what we were told when early immersion began and as a parent community we must advocate that older children already at St. Leo should also have the option of immersed French.

The St. Leo Children's Choir will be singing at the 11:30a.m. Mass on March 7th.  Please come to support them!

All children are encouraged to bring in a family photo for the February 29th Assembly where the children will celebrate love and the Importance of Family.  All parents are welcome to attend the Mass, hosted by Ms Policelli's 3-4 class.

We are in need of a new scoreboard for our athletic department.  If anyone has a lead on a good deal for one please respond to this email.

Reminder Ms LeHane, Ms Figueredo and Mr Sarabia's classes will be skating on Monday.  Ms Policelli and Mr Punter's classes will be skating on Friday.  Be sure your child comes to school with their proper equipment of skates and helmet.
