December 6th CSPC Newsletter

Good evening St Leo families and teachers.  Tis the season and the school is a bustling place to be!  Lots in this newsletter with a special section on the Christmas Concert!  Please check out our website at http://www.stleoparentcouncil.org and follow us on twitter @stleosfun

St. Leo Christmas Concert is this Thursday, December 10th beginning at 6:30p.m. (grades JK - 3).

*Please have your child arrive at the school by 6:00p.m.

*The school dress code is not in effect for the Concert and students are encouraged to wear their appropriate holiday clothes!

*Mme Campeau's class please wear red (and a Santa hat if you have one!)

* Teachers if you have any special instructions/reminders please let me know and I am happy to send them out via an email on Wednesday night!

*We are seeking a parent who might be able/willing to help out with lighting for the Christmas Concert!!!  Please contact Ms Mullin at heather.mullin@tcdsb.org

*Pizza and juice will be sold by the grade eights and CSPC before the concert for any and all frazzled families rushing to get there for 6:00p.m.!

*December is the time for giving but can also be the time for financial stress.  Without any pressure to donate, we have three ways that we will be giving as a school community this holiday season!

1)We will be having a special voluntary collection as you leave the concert for the Lakeshore Syrian Refugee Committee.  Proceeds from this collection will go directly to helping a Syrian refugee family. Please note you can also make a donation online at  https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/lakeshore-syrian-connection-to-sponsor-refugee-fam/

2)Please consider bringing a canned good item for the students Me to We collection!

3)Please consider bringing a new pair of mittens for our mitten tree!

*In light of the financial stresses of the holiday season and the incredible fundraising work of all of our families this year, we were not going to have any fundraising at the Christmas Concert but there has been a call by many for the very fun 50/50 draw - since someone will go home very happy!  And so… we will be doing a combined 50/50 raffle with 2nd and 3rd place prizes of donated Christmas baskets.  Tickets will be $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00 and sold from 6:00p.m. - 6:30p.m. Proceeds will go to technology at the school.

A huge shout out to our sponsor of the week Venus Victoria Spa!  Feel like a little pampering over the holidays?  This is the place!  Located at Royal York and Queensway 416 251 6778

Congratulations to our St. Leo Children's Choir for their glorious singing at today's 11:30a.m. Mass.  How very proud we are and what a wonderful way to celebrate this special advent season!

Reminder that Wednesday is Pizza Day and Thursday is Pasta Day!

Save the date for the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on Wednesday December 16th at 8:00a.m.  Seeking parent volunteers!  Still seeking baked items, juice, coffee and a fruit tray! Thank you to all who have generously let me know what you will be bringing!

Electronic Principal, Chair and Financial reports for December will be on the website by the end of the week!  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Reminder Lakeside Pharmacy is offering Flu Shots!  Be sure to tell them you are from St. Leo.

St. Leo Church Bazaar is December 12th and 13th.  They are seeking baked goods and they can be dropped off on Friday afternoon via the Stanley St. Basement entrance.

Thank you to all of the teachers for booking skate days at Mimico Arena!  We are thrilled the skate locker will be put to good use!  Parents please remember to send in permission forms and to sign whether you are able to volunteer!

Hoping that everyone has a wonderful week amidst the hustle and bustle!  As always please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas to make our school even more awesome!

Warmest Regards,

Michelle
