October 4th Weekly CSPC Newsletter

Greetings parents and teachers!  Fall is definitely upon us!  Hoping that everyone had a great weekend!

St. Leo 3rd Annual Cleanup Day is October 19th.  Please let me know if you need additional pledge forms. (10 pledges at a toonie each will reach our goal and remember every dollar goes back to the students!!!)  Looking for parent volunteers willing to assist on the day. 

A huge thank you to Carey Burleigh for her artwork on the Outdoor Classroom bunker.  It looks beautiful. 

The Religious Celebration Committee is looking for a grade two parent interested in helping out with First Holy Communion Celebrations.  Please respond to this email or contact Tania Zoldak if you are interested.   

Skating season will soon be upon us and we would like to be sure that our amazing new skating locker gets used. Teachers please be sure to let Ms LeBlanc know what days you would like to book.  Parents, if you are interested involunteering for skating days at Mimico Arena over the winter season please respond to this email.  

Thank you to the St. Leo SARC team for their tireless advocacy of a new school for St. Leo and for the parents who have come to support at the Public Meetings.  It is very appreciated. 

Although the weather is cooler and wetter, the trees still need a great start.  If you are able to help out with the watering of trees over the next few weeksplease respond to this email.  Even if you can only do one day, it would be huge help!   

A few friendly reminders:

October 5th is World Teacher's Day
October 7th is World Rosary Day.  There will be a special presentation in the gym at 11:00 am facilitated by grade 5 / 6 and Mrs. Figueiredo

October 8th is the See Hear Clinic (for those who sent in permission forms and funds)

Our first regular CSPC meeting is this Wednesday, October 7th at 6:30p.m. in the School Library.   Items on the agenda include funds allocation and the 2015/16 Budget. There will be cookies:)

As an FYI, the current job action is by the support staff of secretary, caretaker, Child & Youth worker and educational assistants.  Support staff are completing assigned duties and responsibilities as assigned previous to the job action. Mrs Ugrin has assured us that Student safety is a priority and it is being respected.

A reminder that Nutrition program donations can be made by cheque or credit card to St. Leo CSPC and funds will be forwarded to the program.  

Looking ahead:

October 14th is Cross Country at Centennial - If you are available, come out to support our students and cheer for the Lions. 

October 15th will be our first  Pasta Lunch Day.  Forms will be sent home this week. 
                                              

October 16th is SCHOOL PHOTO DAY - All students should be in Navy Blue bottoms: pants, skirts, skorts, & White  tops: Shirts, Turtle Necks, T-Shirts.  No logos or patterns please. 

October 21st at 1:00p.m. is our official unveiling of the Outdoor Learning Garden/Classroom.  We are seeking donations of baked goods for the reception.

The school year is progressing nicely! Lots of activities both in and out of the classroom. Thanks to everyone for supporting the school effort!
