All elected positions are open for new candidates. A listing of them are below:
Chair or Co-Chair (1) - chairs the monthly meetings, communicates with the principal and aids with representing and communicating with the school community
Co-Chair or Vice Chair (1) - shared responsibilities or back up assistance to the Chair
Treasurer (1) - general tracking and reporting of funds along with treasurer and principal at each meeting
Secretary or Co-Secretary (1 or 2 if co) - responsible for taking minutes at the monthly meetings (9 meetings remain this year)
Parent Rep Positions (3 ... or 2 if there are co-secretaries) - votes but does not have an official job description
Nomination forms have been sent home. I have attached them here as well. You can nominate someone or you can put your own name forward. If you can't make the meeting on Wednesday, but would like to be a part of the council or show your support for a parent that you know would like to be a part of the team - don't worry. Just send in your nominations to the school and your vote will be included.
All parents elect 7 people and then the voted 7 decide who will take on each role.
Please be advised that it is not a requirement to attend every meeting even if you decide to take an official position. We are all busy and help to pick up the slack when required. You can also pop into meetings at anytime whether you are a voting member or not.
