On Friday, November 24th, the students of St. Leo will clean up the parks and streets around our school. With our recent addition of an outdoor classroom, we aim to focus on environmental stewardship and responsibility.
Not only will this teach our kids about ownership and community pride, but also it is a great way to raise some money for our school in a way that allows our students to be involved. Teachers, support staff and volunteer parents will supervise ALL students while participating in this eco-friendly activity. Each child will receive a pledge form to ask grandparents, neighbours, friends etc to sponsor them in our fifth annual St. Leo Cleanup Drive.
Remember that all of the “extras” that our children experience (including athletics, school trips, computer resources, sacrament celebrations etc) are made possible through the fundraising of Parent Council. Fundraising is the responsibility of every family in the school and so we are setting a goal of $20 per child. (Asking 10 people to sponsor a Toonie is easier than it seems!!) It is a great cause and most folks are delighted at the idea of our youngest generation taking responsibility. Please note tax receipts are available for donations over $25.00 if all information is provided on the form.
We need your help and your enthusiasm. Together we can do it! If you are interested in volunteering to help with the cleanup we are looking for parents who are able to help on Friday, November 24th from 9:00a.m. – 10:30a.m. If you have any questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please bring all cash and cheques (made payable to St. Leo School) to your child’s teacher by November 24th
